How much does a SUBLIME jumbo bag weigh?

  • Weight actually isn't the best metric for a number of our products due to the nature of sawdust/shavings. generally speaking, bags have a range of weight but can always service 100 cubicles day and night for a week. The drier the sawdust, the lighter the bag. We fill all bags to the same level with a precise mix of sawdust and lime so rest assured if your bag appears a little lighter that just means you have received a very dry, very absorbent batch of sawdust with no less lime than usual.

Why do you use limestone rather than quick or slaked lime (Hydrated)

  • There are a few reasons we use a blend of calcium carbonate instead of a hydrated lime option. Thanks to the trials we carried out on farms, we noted that hygiene scores and performance didn't vary dramatically when comparing the two products. In addition, hydrated lime is a caustic material, while the high pH kills bacteria, it also burns cows skin and teats, which can lead to welfare issues in the long run.
