Founded in 2012, Doherty Woodshavings LTD supplies high-quality animal bedding and biomass wood pellets to the NI and ROI markets. Despite our recent founding, Doherty’s history extends much further than our registered company roots. Starting as a small, local business catering to the needs of the agricultural community, Doherty’s began over 30 years ago in a yard situated between Cullybackey and Portglenone, in the heart of the Antrim countryside. Originally started by Francis and Marie and known as F&M Doherty, the business is still owned and run by the Doherty family today; using these years of expertise to continue to develop and grow.
The Doherty Group now employs over 25 full-time & part-time staff across 5 locations and is home to 3 standalone brands; SUBLIME Cattle Bedding, Pure Purrs Litter & Lasta Wood pellets. Our customer base ranges from pet owners, to farmers, to businesses and co-operatives. Despite our continued growth, we strive to maintain our personal approach to business, seeing our customers as more than just a name and trying to understand the problems they face day-in-day-out to see how we can best help solve them.
